Hotel Bad Schachen – Lindau, Bodensee
Transportation
Those arriving by plane should fly into either the Zurich (ZRH) or Munich (MUC) airports and take the train from there to Lindau (Bodensee), Germany. (Do not make the mistake of going to Lindau, Switzerland, which is in the Zurich canton!) There is also a small local airport at Friedrichshafen (FDH) only 30 minutes from Lindau that has connecting flights to Frankfurt (FRA).
Travel time by train from the Zurich airport to Lindau is roughly two and a half hours (Swiss Rail). From the Munich airport, it is about a three-and-a-half-hour train trip (Deutsche Bahn). Once in Lindau, the train station is about two miles from the Hotel Bad Schachen where the Solari Hang will be based. Please take a taxi to get to the hotel from the train station.

Our meetings will take place in the extraordinary Hotel Bad Schachen in Lindau, Germany. The continuously family-owned hotel is one of the most exceptional places in Lindau and boasts a history of over 250 years as a spa. It is situated on the shore of Lake Constance with a stunning view of the lake, the island of Lindau, and the Austrian and Swiss mountains on the other side.
The Hotel Bad Schachen is the hotel we recommend for your stay during the Hang. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with a balcony and lake views, a buffet breakfast, as well as full access to the spacious spa area. Lower-priced rooms are also available. Solari has arranged a contingent of rooms at Hotel Bad Schachen for those attending the Hang. Please make your own booking using the code “SOLARI” when you contact reception. Book your accommodation from Saturday, August 8, 2020 through checkout on the morning of Friday, August 14, 2020. You are responsible for your booking, including any cancellations of rooms.
Please note: As August is usually fully booked, the hotel can hold the contingent only until January 31, 2020. We would like to ask you to make your booking as soon as possible!

If you prefer lower-cost accommodations that are still within walking distance to our meeting location at Hotel Bad Schachen, we recommend either the Hotel Lindenallee or the Parkhotel Lindau. Both hotels offer sun terraces and are convenient to Lake Constance and to local parks and trails. (Note that there is no contingent of rooms held for Solari at these hotels, so if you choose to stay in one of the two, it is advisable to also make your reservation soon.)
